The interesting fact is that by installing the Stamp Act George Grenville probably increased rebellious attitudes toward britsh control over the American colonies. By attempting to manitain a stable hold over the colonies may have incited a nationalistic fervor among many of the colonists and their families. The stamp act may have made the desire for national independence and freedom from England even stronger. So in all cases, George Grenville plan to establish British imperial control over the colonies may have backfired in the long run.
