My criticism of Lady Gaga's music video "Telephone"

Overall, I think this is a very poor choice for a video. My only problem is that I don't see how the song and its lyrics relate to the actual concept of the video. For example, if you heard this song for the first time on the radio. It wouldn't make you think of prison lesbians or even women in prison for that matter. I think the video could have went in a better direction and had more effective conception. In the video for paparazzi also directed by Jonas Akerlund, the song, the video and its lyrics all work together effectively to make an interesting visual presentation. I would go so far to say that "Paparazzi" was Lady Gaga's best video, even surpassing the video for "Bad Romance". In Paparazzi, the viewer gets the message that Lady Gaga is a wealthy or affluent person of sometype, maybe even a celebrity. She gets into an argument with her boyfriend and he throws her off the balcony attempting to kill her. He fails in his attempt. Lady Gaga survives and is forced to walk on crutches for a period of time. During her recovery, the paparazzi are taking several pictures of her as she seen on newspapers and magazines throughout the video. Somehow, she gets back into the house with her boyfriend and eventually winds up poisioning him. She is sent to jail for his murder and of course, the paparazzi covers the whole story. That was an excellent video that was directly syncopated with the song. It was precisely accurate with the song's lyrics and worked well with its overall theme. This video for "Telephone" is pop trash. Bright colors and flashy dancing do not validate a music video. If the idea behind the video is not logical and cohesive, it only makes it worse. Poor choice, Lady Gaga. I expected better from a talented artist such as yourself. You've made musical masterpieces in the past, this is not one of them.

Common Sense2 Official

According to Americna scholar Thomas Paine, the fundamental purpose of government was to provide security to its citizens and the ultimte success of a government is to be judged by the extent to which it fulfills this role. The goal of government was to control how society should function or be organzied the method by which tha was accomplished should be chosen as the most appropriate way to achieve this goal. Paine begins the short phamplet with his views and thoughts on government in general. In his intial observaton, he notices that people have the inclination to interchange government and society. Drawing a sharp line, Paine argues that society is always something to strive for, whereas government is "a necessary evil." Society nurtures our ambitions and goals as a young nation, while governement is there only to keep man from his personal vices and sins. In the pamphlet Common Sense, it is written that if a nation with a central government impeded by oppresives forces,it is far worse than if such behavior were to occur on its own accord, since the citizens of that nation create and support their government. If the people are following this method they are supporting the poor conditions and failures of the government. If all of the citizens in a society justifiably behaved with good morals the idea of government would not be neccesary,
but becuase humans have natural weaknesses, a governmental authority is needed for the protection of life and property. To explain the purpose of government even further, Paine used the example of a small group of people placed in a small area of land isolated from the rest of civilization. He doubted that the people of this land would want to be confined to a solitary lifesyle, so they would start comnuicating with others to avoid living in total solitude. The people find it easier to live together rather than apart and thereby create a society. As the society grows problems arise, so all the people meet to make regulations to mitigate the problems. Eventually, they need to form a government to control these types of situations. When they begin using this new concept called government they may hold a few public meetings on occassion to discuss issues in the community. Yet, as the size of the society expnads exponentially, the society would need to choose representatives in the government to make laws and regulations. In order to make this government successful and functional, the people of the society would need to hold several elections to make sure that the representatives are in alignment with the desires of the people. Further along in Common sense, Paine explains that this imaginary society was used as an example to show that representation and not an absolute monarchy is crucial "The strength of government and the happiness of the governed." Paine argues that this is the best balance between government and society. Paine states that he was only using the example to describe his thoughts on government and how a proper government should be run.
Paine states that his opinions on governemtn are based on the the ideal "that the more simple any thing is, the less likely it is to be disordered." Having created this model of what the balance should be, Paine goes on to considers the principles of the British Parliament and attacks the British Constitution. Monarchial and aristocratic tyranny are the problems that Thomas Paine finds in the English Constitution. He goes on describe how the kings and other members of British royalty contribute nothing to the common people of England. In common sense, Paine believes that the single purpose of government is to control the vices of the common man. Additionally, he presents society as the energy that "promotes our happiness positively". As a result, government is created as an institution that sets preventative measures. CHANGE THE WORDS FROM HERE DOWN.
It is hard to say whether or not Paine whould have be satisified with today's American society becuase the modern style of government used in contemporary American society is very diffrent from the one used in the 18th century. I don't believe Paine would have been satisified with the small number of representatives in government to represent large amounts of American citizens. He believed that their should be one governmental representative for one American. In that way, he believed that was the only way each American citizen would be fairly represented. Thomas Paine may have reliazed that the idelaisitic form of governemtn he created may not have been possible in reality. He believed that America was the last place on Earth that liberty would be possible. Unfortunately, he left America for Paris, France because he was unsatisifed with the government that the colonists had formed. In conclusion, Thomas Paine did not know that his opinionated arguments in Common Sense would be felt and heard by generations of Americans to come. While some of his arguments in Common Sense are implausible, some of them are sustainable and can be used in American government today. The short pamphlet Common Senseis considered by many historical experts as a critical piece in the formation of the foundation of american government and an example how Thomas Paine has had a long lasting effect on the american poltical landscape. There are several different ways to interpret Thomas Paine's Common Sense. One is that it was his view on how the American government should be run and the other might be his opinion on the British Royalty and the British Parliament being so involved in American affairs. Common Sense may have just been expression of Thomas Paine's political ideology. But, the wide spread distribution of the insightful pamphlet during a time period of revolutionary thought that challenged old ideals of politics and government was essential to forming a successful democractic society in America.

Takoma: Rashad Gray's Novel

Gwen asks Becka how far is the convienice store from her house "About a mile," Becka says. Gwen says "Oh" in a surprised tone of voice. She didn't expect a convenience store to be that far in a supposedly close surburban neighborhood. Gwen is the only awake person in the vehicle. Her vision becomes blurry. Yet, continues to drive down the road. She looks up sees a maze of lights that look hazy. She does not realize she has gone through a red light at an inersection. Her eyes close. She hears Becka scream. They were hit on the side (side-impacted) T-boned by a tractor trailer going 65 mph. Becka was killed instantly. Somehow, Gwen survived the horrified car crash. But, Gwen becomes unconscious and goes into a coma for two days. When she awakes she acts where Becka is. She is told by her mother in a sorrowful voice that Becka was tragically killed in the car accident. She says "What that is impossible?" At first, she denies Becka's death, then she suddenly comes to the realization that her best friend is dead. She bursts into tears and starts crying wildly and screaming. She continues asking where's Becka and says she wants to see her. She has to be restrained by Hospital staff. Surpirsingly, Gwen only has minor injuries, Apparently, Becka took most of the impact from the crash since the impact or T-bone is on her side. Gwen leaves the hospital just in time to attend Becka funeral. Becka's mother is in tears. She had such a bright future and to have it taken away in an instant is unbelievable. Most of Becka's family is very angry at Gwen. They blame her for the crash. Plus, how is it that Gwen is perfectly healthy and Becka is laying in a casket after they were both in a horrific car accident. Becka's family continues heckling Gwen is she is politely asked to leave the funeral. She is told that she is not invited to the internment at the cemetery or any other post-funeral services. Gwen is clearly devastated by this.

Rashad Gray New York Times Bestselling author

So how much money have I made from my Times bestseller? Depending on the type of sale, I gross 6-8% of the cover price of $7.99. After paying taxes, commission to my agent and covering my expenses, my net profit on the book currently stands at $24,517.36, which is actually pretty good since on average I generally net about 30-40% of my advance. Unless something triggers an unexpected spike in my sales, I don’t expect to see any additional profit from this book coming in for at least another year or two.
